You say you are for freedom of speech and then a conservative speaker wants to speak and you spit on him or pour a drink on him (not you personally).

I LIKE ALL KINDS OF SONGS..clean ..x rated..whatever....that's what makes it interesting....speaking of X rated...I guess that means ..everyone on here goes to church every sunday and NEVER ever cusses...give me a break...

But my library is all over the place and unless I am told that they want a family friendly show, I don't censor the music. If family friendly, I will announce throughout the show that in picking your songs, think of songs that your grandmother won't wash your mouth out with soap if you sing it that you like and enjoy and submit those.

Okay; I'll put it this way. There are two Wheeler Walker songs available from Karaoke Version. One is called "Eating Pu$$y and Kicking A$$". There is a line in a song that goes like this: Eatin' Pu$$y, sucking Di&k and kickin' a$$". The other song is called "I like smoking pot a lot". How many of the KJs here have added or have plans to add these two songs to their library?

Since I only add songs that my singers request, one of my singers would have to request the songs. That said, I wouldn't add them if I am doing a family friendly show because there would be absolutely no way I would e able to play them.

These are the types of songs that I will not play without the approval of the owner of the establishment. Not everyone wants to hear this trash. If you want to sing them, sing them at home. Playing them in public can have adverse effects on the venues patrons, especially if it's a family oriented place. If the owner OK's it, fine but I'll make sure the owner sees the lyrics in those songs and tell them how raunchy it is.

I've seen patrons walk out because someone was singing "Short Dick Man". These Wheeler Walker Jr. songs are way more vulgar than "Short Dick Man". In a group of like minded individuals, these songs might go over very well. In your average karaoke bar, they would more than likely go over like a led balloon. I find it quite Ironic that GK will allow the most profane songs ever created to be sung at his show but he won't allow a customer to sing a song from his own personal disc. "Go ahead and sing a song with "MotherFu&er" in it but don't sing a song that's not on my hard drive. I wonder what he would say if you brought a personal disc with a Wheeler Walker Junior song on it that he didn't have but really liked?

I don't allow partons to use their own disc... but saying that..I have had very few if any ask..so it has never been an issue

Kind of funny that you mention this.. I learned about Wheeler Walker from the owner of one of my shows. That show pays $325 per night or half of what the door brings in (whichever is greater).. I have left there making over a grand on several nights.. So.. I will keep playing "SIT ON MY FACE" till the cows come home.. All the way to the bank.. Different folks, different strokes.. After all, music is art. You don't have to like all art, but it is art nonetheless. Some people absolutely hate hip hop because of the use of certain words.. It is however still considered art. Some of us appreciate certain kinds of art and some others, not so much. I think we all understand that it is inappropriate to play songs with bad language or inappropriate innuendos at family events. Like I stated earlier, a great DJ/KJ is able to wear many different hats and cater to any crowd. However, many DJ's either play only what they like or are limited to knowledge of only certain genres. Or, like the Christian baker, do not play anything that goes against their personal moral standard. And, that is fine. However, that doesn't make the rest of us wrong. Just different. Personally, I am hired for everything from Pre-K events to grade schools and universities and house parties. Most of my clients are repeat business. So, I'm going to keep on doing what I'm doing..

The person paying for your services has the right to limit what you play to a certain extent. As for myself the two things they can't dictate with me is how I run my rotation and where I get my new music. I absolutely refuse to play off of You Tube.

If you're doing a karaoke show and making a thousand dollars or more; I'm very happy for you. Like I said in a previous post; there is a time and place for everything. You have obviously found the right place for what it is that you present to your audience. I've seen a guy lose a six night a week karaoke gig for allowing someone to sing "Short Dick Man". Wrong place wrong time.

Right there says everything about this individual that we need to know.. Rule #1: Do not put all your eggs in one basket. I'll be damned if I will allow ONE CLIENT to shut my business down. I only send my DJ's out to venues that book multiple nights. That way, I loose less money if a bar changes management, owners or shuts down altogether.

Six nights a week at a nice hotel outdoor Tiki Bar at 250 a night is a gig that I think every KJ would like to have. Speakers permanently installed. Just wheel in your rack from the storage room that the hotel provides and you make 75 grand a year from one gig. Place had a nice crowd every night for years and the guy blew over one stupid song. The KJ that night was not the owner of the business. He was an employee. The karaoke company had other gigs at other locations as well but they lost a gig that was bringing in 75 thousand dollars a year. I'm sure that the Wheeler Walker Junior songs would have brought on the same result and it's just not worth the risk.

and there is silence.......its really funny how everyone is talking how bad his songs are... lyrics.... but by the way how fast his songs are being produced...huh?..makes one wonder..and since these songs are decided on VOTES....I guess people really do want them.....

The silence is basically nobody cares. If they want them they'll buy them just like any other song. Most in this thread has stated they wouldn't be buying.

I requested a Luke Bryan song(It's a Shore Thing) a few years back and they still haven't made it but they pump out this musical porn right away. Go Figure.

keep in mind, they work off of requests.
this just means that more people wanted the musical porn and nobody wanted Luke Bryan.
it's not about what I want, but the majority.
i don't think i have ever been asked for "It's A Shore Thing", but i HAVE been asked multiple times for Wheeler songs...and that's at the VFW go figure.
