Have you cut off the United States from purchasing downloads from your website?

Zoom Karaoke Yes, we have. Due to pressure from music publishers, unfortunately customers in the US and Canada can no longer make new purchases (but they can spend their existing credits).

They apparantly are pulling all Zoom from Tricerasoft (karaokedownloads and selectkaraoke) as well within the next week or so.

TOR is anonymizing software that defeats, among other things, geolocation restrictions based on IP addresses.

This really shouldn't be that much of a surprise to be fair. PRS licensing scheme makes production of content cheap and simple to do. But it is no different than any other with respect to territory. It seems like a popular misconception here that the sale of content by UK manufacturers is completely legal for anyone who wants to buy it regardless of where they live. This is absolutely not the case. In this attached letter which is publicly available from the ongoing suit between Sony/EMI and Tricerasoft, the PRS is explicitly clear that under no circumstance are UK licensees allowed to sell outside their territory.

Zoom is no different than any of them in the UK...they won't do anything to hinder customers outside their approved territory unless they are actually forced to. It is what happened to Selectatrack and their motivation to partner with Tricerasoft in creating the Selectkaraoke "skin" of Tricerasoft and their being named in the ongoing suit as well.

In short, we are watching history be corrected & the catch-phrase "Land of the free, and the home of the brave," rewritten into the parody that represents our lives: "Home of the oppressed & the land of limited opportunity."
But hurray for the USA & their troll companies being able to set embargoes, & start exclusive member's only clubs, which may start to look like...... monopolies pretty soon. I'm thinking, this is nearly a crime against a HUGE section of geographically discriminated against humanity... class action law suit anyone?

Sure, that's how they keep the underlings, under the GIANT thumb of artistic depravity. But, if it's not done for our financial gain, or letters written & copied to:
Congress, the President (Prime Minister), music publishers, original artists & writers (who allow for cover bands, who in my opinion range from atrocious to better than the original, but somehow feel that a loving fan singing their work, will destroy it), the U.N.,who has suggested that intellectual property lawsuits limiting artistic expression is a crime against humanity... It might be handled pro-bono (sp?)

You know what? It's all about the attorneys. Always is. THEY WANT THEIR MONIES. They get a HUGE portion. They are what is wrong with nearly everything. Just take a look at this gov't. What percentage do you think that run for office have a legal degree? And we fricking elect them. Get a @#$%ing rope.

I'm just saying.

Originally, such positions of government, were "volunteer," unpaid positions, which is how it traditionally became custom for "lawyers & doctors & such" to take on the positions (being able to afford time away from their practices) - this is also why they are not required to work a full year (maybe THEY should work longer & harder, for unlivable wages...). But I digress...

So, if the music publishers are insisting on unfair discrimination... Does that mean we should only allow same race/sex (as the original artists) singers? Why are US citizens not entitled as, nearly any other citizen of the world, that we're not allowed to see /hear or purchase certain songs... Why not just do what's been done figuratively for the past 40 years & just slap chains on us all... Or at least those who don't deserve to make enough money to live...... What a wonderful message, let's hear it for the music industry lead by lawyers and publishers! Yay......

Before this was a country, the only restriction on immigration was "No Attorneys Allowed".

It seems they had a bad reputation in Europe..

The reality is, this move will not stop people from obtaining their tracks. eBay has just about every Zoom disc you would want. And, oh by the way, did I tell you about my house in London?

See, it's very simple. We have had enough with all of the BS. And we're really tired of it. To the point that, many of us just don't care anymore. Why? Because for years we have been supporting the industry and legally purchasing our music only to get slammed by the very same industry we support in return. It seems that the music publishers keep making things worse. It's like they're doing everything they can to put us out of business. They don't seem to care. Why should we?
