Sounds interesting and fairly inexpensive; heck darned convenient too!

It look more like a recording interface that have a built in mp3 encorder; a sound card that need not be conected to a pc. Look good.

Will record to an external hard drive directly. Wow I'm getting 1. better than dragging around my dvd recorder all the time.

From a quick glance at the specs, it seeme like a souped up MP3 player.

It's got a USB port to connect an external hard drive.
