Sure, I have the list. How about the Millenium set?

Do you have the original discs that the tracks on your 'puter came from?

Well now, that's a problem..

Stolen media is not really how we work here..

Perhaps you need to buy the original discs so you are legal.

Then perhaps you can ask for help.

IF he's just a home user, then maybe they got the tracks from someone who owned the discs, maybe they didn't. Either way there isn't much that can be done about it. After all, the only behavior a person can really control is there own.

There are several programs that will list the songs in the DK set. Very easy to go on the net and research them. The cheapest option would be to use the free songbooksdb 'software' that will read your harddrive and generates a list that posts online. The instructions are on their website.

If you don't want to spend the money, go thru the list and write down the songs in excel, that will give you a rudimentary list that is searchable.

However, if you are using those tracks to run your own public karaoke show *like a bar or restaurant or whatever* just know that you ARE committing copyright infringement and are part of the reason that this industry is dying a slow horrible death.

Oh believe me, it's not an assumption at all. If you have the songs on your computer and you don't have the original discs to go with them – you have stolen them. You are the pirate. I don't care what your KJ friend says, you have the Illegal copy of the songs. Why don't you get the list from the same guy who pirated the music to you?

How about if you take all the money you have in the bank, photocopy it, and give me the originals and you keep the copies. See how far the counterfeits will get you.

It does not matter that you "don't sell them."
It does not matter that you "don't run a karaoke business."

It DOES matter
that you have a copy of music – you did not pay for.

You are simply a pirate.
Why don't you get your list from the same pirate that gave you the free music? If you somehow believe this to be legal, where is and what is that KJ's name?

By the way, did your (conveniently unnamed) source give you any Sound Choice tracks?

The fact you do not have the original discs means they are copies - which is illegal in itself to possess. You may not have 'stolen' them, but they just as illegal to have. And I AM a monitor on this site.

Then that longtime karaoke DJ should know better than to give away illegal pirated tracks - which is exactly what he gave you.

I just contacted the person who gave me the music and they do have the discs and they did not give me sound choice songs. they gave them to me because they were retiring and they knew how much i liked to sing. all of the discs were transferred into electronic media for ease of use. I just don't care for any to accuse an innocent person or me for that matter of any wrongdoing especially a first stone caster.. thank you monitor for responding but put a leash on that one because there are very sincere people who like Karaoke who don't need people like that. take care...

Sorry it's still does not matter. The fact is if you do not have the discs with the copies on your computer, they are still illegal. Which means the KJ cannot make copies and keep the disks, he would have to give you the discs in order for them to remain legal. That set alone would cost almost $2000 plus at a minimum of $20 per disc which is being lenient.

I stopped actively looking a while back, but I have not seen a full DK1-99 set go for over $1000 in a couple years now.

DK gets used so little at my shows these days that I may just go ahead and sell my sets off.

If you didn't get the discs, the media is stolen.

Go back to your "Buddy" the long time karaoke DJ, and secure the original discs.

They are still very frequently played at my shows, even when SC is available.

@codeguy2017 -

The members & moderators in this forum have given you good advice and information.

You are in possession of the files on your hard-drive but do not have the actual discs, this is illegal.

On our website, we do not support piracy.

If you purchase the discs (which a link was provided or any other means) then you can legally use.
